Butterflies

That butterfly unaware of its beauty
flutters on a cold winter morning
on due coated flowers
of the garden i call home

its disciplined and focussed
yet happy and joyful
driven by instinct and not by strategy
driven by need and not by greed

It perches on that petal
so elegantly, spreading its wings
to open up thosebright yellow
eyes on the black canvas

The other a bright red
with blue design, flutters around
and comes and sits on the same petal
and says a “hi” and sips the nectar

They both fly off with their collection
on to different flowers
driven by instinct and not by strategy
driven by need and not by greed

the poppies, petunias, roses and lillies
all ready to feed the butterflies
and so they meet again many times on opposite petals
before they call it a day

But not once do they quarrel
or fight, or strategise
Not once do they societise or protest the other’s collection
Its but a live and let live world they live in

If man should learn something
from these beautiful things
the creation of nature’s love
and rather be an animal than a man !!
